Harper Lee settles royalty case for To Kill a Mockingbird
In a legal case that sounded like a courtroom novel in its own right, lawyers for 87-year-old Harper Lee reached a settlement with her former publicist. Samuel Pincus took advantage of her stroke and hearing problems some years prior to cheat her out of royalties for her only book. She managed to get the copyright back in 2012 and went after Pincus for the royalties. His attorneys have agreed to settle rather than take it to court.
A round of applause for Ms. Lee, whose steadfast determination would make Atticus Finch very proud of her.
