Apparently the NSA surveillance situation has invigorated sales of George Orwell's classic book, 1984. According to Amazon, recent sales are up 3,440% with an overall rank now of 89 from 3,151. Exact numbers are a bit fuzzy because they change often, but earlier this week it was up around 6,000%.
Anyway you cut it, that's quite a birthday present (the book was originally released June 8, 1948) for the current publisher Penguin. Congratulations George, on being as relevant today as you were 65 years ago right after WWII. By the way, love the campy cover art of the original...
